Nicole’s Trip Goals
I wanted to write down a few of my goals for the trip. I want to keep myself honest and on track for these goals. Also, I think at the end of the trip it will be nice to reflect on these goals to see if I have achieved them.
- Spend more time together as a family. In everyday life, we both work, so we get 1-2 frantic hours with the kids in the morning filled with getting ready for school, eating breakfast etc. We also get a few hours in the evening, which are usually filled with eating dinner and homework. So the luxury of spending more time more time with my family is something I’m really looking forward to being able to do.
- Be more active on a daily basis – a lot more walking and a lot less sitting in front of the computer.
- Be more patient with the kids and with travel. I know there will be times where we have to wait or things don’t go according to plan, so I need to chill-out – take my type A personality for a break!
- Keeping up with the kids education and making that a priority during the trip.
- Try lots of new things and be open minded, get outside my comfort zone.
- Enjoy a simpler life. Have less stuff and teach the kids how happiness isn’t about things.
- Take more photos of the family and places we are going.
- Learn Spanish while in South America.
- Keep up with this blog. I want to document our trip for us to have after our adventure. I also want to use it to keep up with friends and family while we are away.
