The Perfect Traveler’s First Aid Kit
I have been thinking about packing and packing light for this trip. Every time I think of something for the list, I ask myself, do we really need this and can we do without it. Sadly, the list of things to bring is longer than I want. One thing I know we can’t do without is a first aid kit. We do have elementary/middle school aged boys and they are active. I want a comprehensive list, but not to carry an entire pharmacy with us. This is what I think we will need in our kit:
Acetaminophen: Adult and children’s strength
Ibuprofen: Adult and children’s strength
Sleeping Pills: Adults only
Muscle Relaxer: Adults only
Band-Aids: variety of shapes and sizes
Antibiotic ointment
Imodium – Adult and children’s
Gas pills (Gas-X)
Antibiotics – something multi use like Cipro, Adult and children’s
Benadryl – Adult and children’s
Glasses and a spare for Keith and Nicole
Allergy medication – Nicole and Patrick
Malaria medication
Hydrogen peroxide
1% hydro-cortisone cream
Moleskin for blister prevention and treatment
Small digital thermometer
Hand Sanitizer
Sterilizing wipes
Tweezers
Proof of vaccinations
Copies of all prescriptions for medications and eye glasses
Health insurance, medical evacuation insurance, and travel insurance information
If you think of something that I’m missing or that I can leave it behind, comment and let me know!
