Family Review of Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios
We have stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios twice in the last year. Our visits were in April and November of 2015. My boys were lucky enough to receive annual passes to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure from their Grandparents for Christmas. So we went once with the grandparents and once without them. Both visits we had a room with 2 queen beds and a spacious bathroom.
One of the best parts about staying at this hotel is the convenience factor. By staying on Universal Studios property, you get a couple really cool benefits:
- You get access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure at 8am, before the park opens at 9am. This is perfect is you want to get in line for a wand or want to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey without a too much of a line.
- You get an Express pass that works on just about all the rides in both parks. This pass allows you to skip a large part of the line to get on the ride. Please note that the express pass doesn’t work on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
- Your hotel is within a few minutes walking distance of the park or they offer a water taxi as well if you don’t want to walk.
The other thing that we really liked about this hotel was the pool area. It was open and had plenty of chairs in the shade and in the sun. They had a DJ out playing one of the afternoons. They were playing great music, both old and new. They also have wait staff who will deliver orders for food and drinks, including adult beverages, pool side. It is a great place to have a casual dinner with the kids and unwind after a day in the parks.
